Make Right - Phillip Connor - Scott Bowling

A guy at the church I go to decided to write this book about his story in helping the less fortunate and how the scripture has given us the blueprint to do so. I went to the book reading also which honestly kind of helped. It was very similar to the book but gives you some background knowledge so I doubt I'll go to another book reading of anyone good but I'd recommend it if it's an option. The book reads slightly different than usual. At first I thought it was just going to tell his story but it almost reads as a persuasive book to do these things, at least the first half. The stories are interesting and Phillip seems to believe that he was put on this earth to give back. It makes me wonder why I don't have the same desire but I guess we are just different. He already had 4 biological children then decided to adopt 3 kids from Columbia I think. Kind of nuts. The ending had some pretty interesting parts. He gets very introspective about how he was able to deal with all of the adversity of fostering 3 children and the difficulty he endured compared to what Jesus Christ did for us. In the booking reading he talked about all of the therapy he had to go to. He went for each of his adopted kids, himself and his relationship. Kind of funny lolol

I wouldn't have read this if it wasn't for him being at the church I go to so take that for what you will.

  1. Colombia; no way I’m adopting 3 if I already have 4; religion is fine as a powerful motivator but you can’t let it take over your whole life/be your only perspective
