Just Kids - Patti Smith - Scott Goggins
I can't tell if her life is interesting or if she is just really good at talking about her life. This book is surprisingly enjoyable. I found it very calming and refreshing to read. You are following these two starving artists with so much passion for what they are doing and who they are interacting with that you are almost jealous of how much they care about something. The story flows between each event leading you into each with a sense of ease. This is the calming part. All while wondering how it's all going to turn out. These people aren't anyone famous famous but are popular amongst their niche of work.
There were many thoughts that I had while reading it. "How are these people so care free? They live their lives with no sense of future or hurry and only care about what they are doing now almost as if they know it'll always work out so why worry" "They care about such little things and each little thing has so much meaning. The gifts they give to one another are not just items but tokens of appreciate for each other" "Why are they so passionate and how do they never stop" (this one I kind of get cause I'm still exercising after 15 years) "They accept one another completely without any intent of changing them. They are encouraging one of another to the point where they really are each others biggest supporter."(If you always have someone to tell I guess it can only be so bad)
Its a autobiography about a girl and her close friend as they survive living their dreams of becoming an artist. Each getting into different avenues of art but always still being an artist. I did enjoy this book. I saw it on a list of must reads and I'm not sure I'd recommend it to everyone cause while I did enjoy it I wouldn't recommend it to my dad. So does that mean it's a top book? Is a perfect book able to capture any audience? Shrug. Does have some ltgbq stuff so just a heads up.
