Dead Wake - Erik Larson - 2016

Ok. This is the fourth Larson book I have read. Shout out again to Eric Planz from UPS for the recommendation. All of them are good. So far I would say Thunderstruck is the best, then Devil in the White City, then Isaac’s storm, then Dead Wake. In other words, I liked this one the least. It is still a good book. I just felt like the overall story was not as good. This book was also boring at times. I wanted to write zzzzzzzzz in the margin lol. This book is nonfiction and is not too long. It tells the history of the sinking of the Lusitania by a German U boat.

Apparently the shot by the German U boat captain is like that shot from Luke Skywalker when he uses the force to blow up the Death Star. What I am saying is that it only took one torpedo to blow up this massive ship somehow and based on the book there was a lot of luck involved. It was the perfect shot by the U boat captain.

If you like nonfiction and history this book is for you! Page it!

P.s. It is almost spring so I will probably start running more and reading less. I am going to try to read one more Erik Larson book called In the Garden of the Beasts.
