The secret Race - Tyler Hamilton
This is one of those book that gives you raw unfiltered view of an event that is so widely popular that you could never imagine these things ever took place. The book is from the view of a rider that was in the tour de France but specifically rode with Lance Armstrong. The nature of the book is already interesting. He's giving you a detailed account of the life of an elite cyclist which is already cool and then also with one of the most famous people on the plant. In addition to those, which would already give you a good book, he also gives you the first hand account on the cheating and lengths that teams would go to win. The life these people live is already crazy but they also have wives with them that are just home alone while they are training 24/7 PLUS he said walking hurts recovery so when he is off he can't even walk around with her LOL idk who these women are but why would they stay. Also on cyclist forced his team to carry him up the stairs because it affected recover lol Throughout the book he likes to tell his story but he also lets you be the judge of right and wrong. It's a nice experience to see how/why he chose what he did and lets you see it from his view while also giving you the opportunity to ponder what you would decide. There was so much corruption but as I'm finding out in life EVERYTHING is corrupt so I'm not quite sure why it surprises me.
I do question anything sport related before the year 2004. I believe that's when they finally were able to test for anything. God only knows what was happening in the olympics. Also according to him Lance was terrible person but given the circumstance maybe we all would've been.
I'd highly recommend this book, really enjoyed it regardless if you are cyclist since everyone knows what the tour de France is and who lance Armstrong is.
The wives stay because their husbands are pro athletes jajaja idk i will have to read sounds good!
