Fearless - Eric Blehm - SB

A note prior to my review. I have a large interest in the military and specifically the navy seals so my review might be slightly bias due to my infatuation. This book is a comeback story and american hero all bundled into one. He grew up a very normal life until drugs came into his life and that kept him at rock bottom until he was able to meet his wife, find god and join the Navy. For some reason Brian and I read a lot of books about people on drugs but it seems if you can avoid that bullet you already have an advantage in life. Typically I'd expect it to happen to someone with a bad upbringing but Adam Brown had a great upbringing and still struggled. His time in the military was essentially as far as you could go. He accomplished almost everything becoming a seal and then a Seal Team 6 Seal which is even more prestigious. A lot of the takeaways from this book were how I guess I thought Navy seals were perfect in every way but they are just human that never quit. He lost his eye, broke his hands and broke his leg and just kept going. It's hard to beat someone who just doesn't quit. Other traits were humility and then doing things not for recognition but because they were the right thing to do.

A glimpse into the military life was very interesting. The families are moving all around the country while the husband is deployed. Then they are home alone just waiting for the doorbell to ring and just to see if it's navy seals coming to tell you he died in battle or not. Then you have multiple kids who barely get to hangout with their Dad. All while barley making any money and are just pawns in a chess match. I mean I don't understand how anyone does not have respect for these people for what they do and sacrifice. The wife of adam brown removed her door bell since that's the last noise she heard before they came to her door to tell her he died. So sad.

Like I said I am probably bias but it was a good book. Nothing difficult to read but just a comeback story and an american hero mixed into one book. RIP Adam Brown. Hoorah.

    1. I think it's pretty obvious. The book opens about getting information from other people and the whole time you never hear anything from Adam directly. I don't think it's meant to be a secret
