Che Guevara: A Revolutionary Life - Jon Lee Anderson - 1997

I read this sometime in arlington/at lunch at imf. I think I checked it out from the arlington public library.

Basically I always saw people with shirts of Che Guevara and wanted to see what they really meant.

I was mostly disappointed. As far as I can tell (and I should probably reread this book because it has been a while) Che was a bit of an ambulance chaser. He had one successful revolution and then tried to replicate it in Congo and in Bolivia and basically failed. I think he died trying to start a revolution in Bolivia. I think he is a bit like Malcolm X. His ideas were not really bad, but he never really found the right way to go about expressing them or putting them into action.

I say this is worth reading because people throw around the name Che Guevara (or wear the T-shirt) and maybe they do not really realize what he was about. Anyways page it! and I should page it again or maybe read the book written by his wife for another perspective.
