A very interesting read. The title is funny, but after reading it I find it totally appropriate (even more appropriate than other books I have read by "scholarly" authors). This book is short and not over researched (short but sweet, you can probably read it in one day). In fact she straight up tells you she forgets sometimes which was refreshing to me after reading all of these massively researched historical fiction books with 50 pages of footnotes and endnotes.  

Much better than I was expecting. Yes there is some sexual bs but most of the book is about hardship and being lost and found again (human stuff). I listened to the audio. I hoped Britney would read it to me (I have a crush on Britney and am jealous of Hesam). Michelle Williams does a great job though and the part the Britney reads (the introduction) does not sound that good. 

Where to begin? Britney smokes Virginia Slims (lol). She was famous as a teenager for oops (one of my earliest memories is getting that cd at the drive through at mcdonald's lol). Justin Timberlake is a jerk (he was young and famous though. I would have been a jerk too.) K-Fed is an idiot although at least he wanted to see his kids. Many fathers disappear totally. Britney is an idiot sometimes. She dated a married man (she didnt know she said, maybe she didnt idk). She dated k-fed and eventually married him even after she found out he had a toddler and an x girlfriend that was 8 months pregnant. um come on britney isnt that a red flag lol. She kissed madonna. I guess that is not so bad, but if you are going to complain about the paparazzi for a large part of this book then you are kind of asking for it. Even the cover of this book (which I do not object to jajajaja) is super sexual. Her family should probably burn in hell, especially her dad, maybe not her brother brian. The part about the conservatorship is super interesting. She was essentially on lock down for 13 years. Her bathroom breaks were monitored. Her phone was often taken away. She couldnt eat french fries or icecream for two years. She did not have control of her tour. On the other hand you might think, why did she allow herself to be treated this way? I tend to think that Britney could have helped herself a lot more, but I am no lawyer. Basically her family enslaved her and lived off her money. They drank jack and coke while they forced her to eat canned vegetables jajajaja. I am writing too much again. 

In sum famous people are just as lost or more lost than the rest of us (see our review of malcolm x). Famous people have terrible home lives (especially their dads, see our review of frank shorter's book or really any memoir about a famous person. I am beginning to think that a non-present dad is better than an abusive or controlling one). Britney had a lot of natural talent (I wonder what duckworth would think, see our review of "Grit"). There is a lot less sex and drugs and partying in this book than I was expecting. Britney is an honest and fair writer as far as I can tell (her sister and mom also have books out so idk read them all and form your own opinion. I have only read this one). 

How she made any music, and performed in vegas, went on tour, and dated other men while fighting her x husband and her family is beyond me. But gucci mane was the same way (see our review of his autobiography) and anthony kiedis was the same way (see our review of his autobiography). I need to exercise and sleep and be happy to be successful. How these people go to jail and abuse drugs and fight with their parents and still release music is way beyond me. 

There is a feminist feel to this book. I hate feminists, but I think Britney is likely right in this case. Idk she was trying to be a mom, and a business person, and a sex symbol at the same time so I am a bit confused as to what to think about her in regards to the treatment of women. 

There is a lot I am forgetting or not mentioning but when you read it you will see. Actually one other thing is that the book is quite funny at times, especially when Britney starts swearing or something really dumb happens. I am ordering my free britney t-shirt today! (lol) Better than expected. Page it!!!
