Super unique writing style. Super super Dominican. I think you have to read this in spanish. The spanish is just too good. The dialect is just nasty. Sad book but perhaps based on the dominican experience in the U.S. Often sexual, really in your face style. It tells the story of a dominican living in the U.S. 

if you are learning spanish, are dominican, or are interested in hispanic culture, read for sure!!! page it!

p.s. apparently some women have come out accusing the author of sexual abuse which I am sad to hear about (well who knows what is true these days)
