Every Man a Hero: A Memoir of D-Day, the First Wave at Omaha Beach, and a World at War - Ray Lambert Jim DeFelice
Well written memoir about wwII from primary source and hero ray lambert. Ray lambert is a real hero. He has a rock named after him in normandy due to his brave and heroic actions during dday. Good information about wwii. The parts I remember most are that at one point it is him or the enemy in Africa and he talks about how war is such a difficult thing. On dday he is nearly crushed by a boat but for whatever reason the boat ramp lifts and he survives. These things make me think maybe there is a god. The other part I remember is that the second generation polish american soldiers were able to talk to some polish prisoners on dday and get info. If your grandma tries to teach you her native language listen up kids.
not a top 10 book but worth reading for sure page it!!! god bless our veterans and especially ray!!! We are lucky to live in a "generally" peaceful era. Rest in peace ray!! 1920-2021
