It's nice being able to do a book review after you just finished it. This book is another one of those crazy non-fiction stories that you can't believe is real or happened but create a phenomenal story and unfortunately a lot of phenomenal stories are very dark. It happened in the mid 1900's when a lot of medical science was unregulated and the treatment of black people was also very terrible so you get a terrible hurricane of abuse and exploitation. Henrietta Lacks had cells that allowed scientists to do all sorts of things forever progressing science but rarely giving her any credit and this book highlights all of the pieces. The main take away from this book is I didn't realize incest was so common, science seems extremely corrupt so I should question everything, if I was black then I'd REALLY question science since my faith in it would be absolutely none given their treatment history.
It's a crazy, terrible, well told story so I'd recommend it and if you like science it's really informative.
i will have to read; i have heard of this briefly at some point
