Meb For Mortals - Meb Keflezighi


 

When I ran the Houston marathon Meb was at the expo but I did not know who he was. I went to get my picture with Kara Goucher instead (she is hotter). I did not know who she was either (lol). In any case this is a good book for runners. Really good tips. The main thing I took from this book is about weight. Every other book about running that I have read never says anything about your weight. Meb says he loses about 10 pounds or more before a race and then eats it back on soon after. He also says he was too light at one point and got hurt perhaps because of that. This was very interesting to read. In fact, he says he ran 10 miles and then went to church and there were donuts after but he could not eat them jajajajjaa and he was very very sad because of this. I feel your pain bro. Anyways, I am glad he talked about weight because it is a bit of a black box for me. I still havent really figured it out. He also promotes the eliptigo but I think he is wrong about that. I think he just mentions it because it is his sponsor. His training was super intense and he really ran a lot of mileage. Congrats to Meb for winning Boston for the good old USA!! Unlike many other famous people his family life seems to have been ok as far as I can tell.
