Manhunt - James L. Swanson

Shout out uncle steve for the recommendation. This book is top 20 quality even though I forgot about it. It was especially relevant for me since I grew up in the DC area and recognized a lot of the small towns they were talking about. He was so close to escaping into the deep south. If the one guy (i think his name was cox or something) would have helped them more he probably would have made it. As usual, Stanton was a beast and orchestrated the capture from dc. The ending is good (I mean not like happy but very interesting) and the author did a great job researching the history. I think some of his coconspirators are hanged at the end, which was apparently normal for that time period. Read the epilogue as some other really weird stuff happens to some of the characters. I think the one military guy in Lincoln's box does some really weird/crazy stuff later in life. Super interesting read!!!

page it for sure! you're welcome!
