Left to Tell - Immaculée Ilibagiza


 In my top 20 of all time for sure! You don't have to be catholic to like it. I think this lady was at my church one day. If I wasn't an idiot and knew what a legend she was, I would have showed a lot more respect. Huge miss on my part! You learn about the rwandan genocide and what the poor people went through. Most people were killed by machete. It was terrible. 

I promise you will not be able to put this book down. I remember rushing home from work each day to try and finish. What a sad and heartwarming story. If you think you have been through something you haven't, not at all. Probably #5 in my top 20 of all time. If you are catholic/religious you will like it even more. Never give up. Pray your heart out. 

A really really great book! page it now! page it for sure! Tell your kids to read it, tell your wife!

  If this was basketball I would shoot a 3 cuz I need a heat check jajaja. Much better than moneyball. Not as good as the big short. He has another book called going infinite that is about crypto that I want to read but I cannot find it on Libby for some reason.  The main thing I learned from this book is that who you know really matters and that having money really matters. These people got Michael out of the hood by accident and used their vast wealth and connections to help him make it to the nfl. Man’s Guide to Women - Gottman and Gottman - 2016

  I can’t say it is a good sign that I am reading this book. Jajajaj It is an embarrassment mostly but anyways knowledge is knowledge right? Jaja I can’t say this book was super helpful or matched my experience really. In some cases I disagree with the authors.  I think the main surprise of this book is the overall portrayal of women. I thought since it is 2026 women want to pay for the first date and aren’t emotional and don’t want to hold your hand and and don’t care if you hold the door for them and want to take control in sex and other relationship matters. This is what I get from watching tv and hearing about women wanting more equality. But this book basically says the opposite based on their studies: essentially that men have the power in the relationship and that women are fragile and need to be held and listened to. Choose Strong - Sally McRae - 2023

  Well where to begin? Thank you to Rachel Leach (soon to be Bowling??? :) jajajajajajaj lol) for gifting me this book. Also no thanks to Rachel Leach for giving me a hard copy book (jajajaj). Next time just tell me the title and I will get it digitally (jajajaj). I will send you the bill for my optometry appointment shortly.  Anyways, short book easy reading, probably the second saddest book I have ever read (see my review of What Made Maddy Run for the saddest). I do not really think the author is a great writer especially after reading Krakauer, Hanna, Lewis, and Larson, but hey I have written exactly 0 books so good for her for writing her story. There is going to be a second book (or maybe it is out already, I will have to check with Rachel) because this book only covers the first 18 (terrible) years of her life.
